February Half Term 2020 was in full swing regardless of the high winds. We saw over 270 children and young people taking part in a variety of sport sessions all across the borough.

Parkour / Free Running with Above Parkour delivered a fun indoor session inviting new comers to attend their weekly run sessions in the borough. This week they are now back outside at Harrow Lodge Park Parkour alongside their indoor sessions.

Athletics was another huge hit where coaches helped develop the skills in throwing, jumping sprint and hurdles. It was great to see lots of future Olympians taking part and enjoying themselves.

Netball at Frances Bardsley was a smash with many working on their skills, drills, attack and defence as well as taking part in awesome game play to finish the day.

The West Ham Football Camp was as popular as ever with sessions booking to capacity very quickly. The weather held out for the morning, however the winds took over in the afternoon causing it to be cancelled. Don't forget WHUFC deliver a FREE weekly Monday KICKS session and Disability Football session on Thursdays at Brittons Academy.

Table Tennis Tournament at My Place was a massive hit with 22 young youths participating and enjoying the fun tournament with coach Colin.

RDF Sports delivered #MAKEITHAPPEN Basketball at Brittons Academy giving our young basketballers in the borough the opportunity to shoot some hoops and develop their skills.

Our new Mini Snooker and Pool Tournament at MyPlace was a hit with some fantastic skills being shown and taught.

Over in Para Sport, we held Multi-Sport sessions with Bradely from Essex Cricket, Peter and Jordan from the Havering Tennis Club and Havering Arts at the YMCA, Swimming at Sapphire in Romford and Movement to Music session at Hornchurch Sports Centre. It was great to see some new faces as well as regulars in attendance at each of these.

A big THANK YOU goes out to all our coaching staff, partners and facilities for working extremely hard and doing such a great job teaming up with us to produce a fun-filled portfolio of sport and exercise during this week.

We can confirm that regular weekly sessions are now back up and running after a short break so we hope to see you at one (or more) of those.

We are now planning our Easter Programme and working on even more action-packed activities for the community. Be sure to check the School Holiday Activities tab on this website for schedules and booking links as well as the Children and Young People tab for our weekly sessions in the borough.
