London Youth Games Update
Havering Hurricanes Kayak Team competed in both slalom and sprint at Saturday 3rd June at London Watersports Centre. The team represented by Ruby Munday, Lewis Coleman, Rachel Knight and Regan Harvey from Stubbers performed well in both events landing an overall 7th place in Slalom. The afternoon saw the Kayak sprint event where we had 3 kayakers qualifying for the finals in their age categories. Ruby Munday came out on top winning a gold medal in 69 seconds
BTO Michelle Gustavsen said: "Team Manager Charlotte Spearing have done a great job coaching the Kayak team this year. We are all really proud of the whole team’s performance. To top it up with a gold medal in the Female junior race was a great finish to a long day of races. We are very fortunate to have so many talented young athletes in the borough across various sports."
Our Volleyball team from Marshalls park school came 9th overall equalling last year’s
position which meant that Havering is currently top 8th overall before this weekend’s competitions at Redbridge Sports Centre.
As part of the Satellite Club programme, as funded by London Sport, Havering are working with a number of sports clubs/organisation to deliver sessions at various sites across the borough other than at their usual base.

Para Active Review
Thursday 18th February Para Sports Open Free Session saw 12 Children aged 8-16 years with mixed Learning and Physical Disabilities enjoy a range of sporting and physical activities from Wheelchair Basketball, Tennis, AthletFit to Soft Play and free play activities with sporting equipment. The event held at the YMCA was delivered as part of the new Havering Disability Steering Group to gain feedback from parents to help our delivery of future programmes. It was a successful day afternoon which all enjoyed.
Feedback for the parents has helped structure our Easter Session.
